Hi, I recently upgraded to the latest version of Bible Study and am on Joomla 1.71 .

We have been using your plugin for years and we love it! I upgraded our website because we wanted to begin to to embed Youtube or Ustream video files right onto our StudyView page. I've tried everything but my iframe code keeps getting stripped out!

Things I have tried:

Changing SuperUser settings to "no filter"

Allowing TinyMCE to allow iframes

Not using an Editor at all, just doing straight HTML

No matter what I do, as soon as I hit 'save' on the new study, my markup gets stripped out.

I'm fairly decent at php and html, so if I need to altar a file, I could probably do it if told where to look.
Please advise, and thanks a lot!

The answer is pretty simple, really - but it took some experimenting on my part.

TinyMCE will not do the trick for you. Definitely make sure you clicked "No filtering of HTML" in the JBS Administration/Permissions-Filters button (on the top menu buttons on the right of the Administration view).

Install the JCE editorClick here for their site

Go to Joomla's Configuration screen and select JCE as the default editor.

Then in your study, click show/hide (upper left), paste in your embed code, then Save the study. You should see a blank window in your studytext where the embed code is. View the site and the code should work. At least it did for me on the localhost version.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!! That worked beautifully. This was my first time asking for assistance and I was really surprised by the speed of your reply. Your plugin is the best I've seen.

I'll post our website as soon as I finish designing our custom views, etc.

Arlene

P.S. God bless you

Glad I could help. We're always trying to help spread the gospel!

I'll look forward to seeing your site. We're interested in creating some new looks for the component!

If you think about it -you might go to the Joomla.org page and to our extensions page and write a review - always helps to know others have found the extension useful to their ministry!

Okay sorry, last question!

While I am now able to embed video details in my study - now the general html in my detail template code is getting stripped out of my custom template view! I notice that the field is not using the JCE editor, not sure what it's using exactly....
