If you need assistance in using JBS version 7.x or above, please be as complete as possible. Also be sure to look at the documentation site first, as it is constantly growing: www.joomlabiblestudy.org/jbsdocs

Hello!

It is privilege to have this module with this many useful features but as beginner I got into difficulties with the setup of my site... Maybe some of you could help me with a push on my learning curve . Please if you can help me now before I screw up all that is put together here so nicely.

1. I've installed JBS 7.0.1 as a fresh install, not the package if I remember well... Now I would rather install the package but already have made changes, created topics and although I read it somewhere that 7.x has a built in backup, I couldn't figure it out where to export my topic list&settings. I need a search box on my site that looks for sermons but couldn't figure it out... As this install didn't had the search plugin I downloaded and installed the 7.0.0 search plugin and enabled/published it but I'm not sure if I did all that's necessary to function or understood how it should... because my search still doesn't provide any results from JBS, and couldn't create a module with JBS search box as there was no such option.

2. I would like to redesign the navigation box, ultimately to arrive to something similar like Covenant Life Church's Resource library. Any hints are welcomed.

4. Could someone give a hint how to separate the dropdown filtering menu from the list it generates to be able to have the filtering menu in my header module (there I would design it a bit) and the list it generated to the body, another module.

3. Couldn't find yet the option for listing sermons according to Bible books... I would like to list all the books of the bible as menu items/hyperlinks for the sermons that were preached on that book (all sermons that focuses on verses from that book). How should I go for that? To make custom display themes would be very timely for no real benefit. If I could find out the hyperlink for each book...

Thank you!

Greetings!

Can you give us your site url so we can see if the search is working? Version 7.0.0 should work fine with 7.0.1 of the component. All plugins/modules/components should match the first and second ordinal: 7.0.x - the third one is just for version tracking.

1. You should be able to install right over the top of a 7.0.x without harming your database. The backup is a separate component found on this site. There is no search function with the module - since search integrates with Joomla's search engine.

2. Hopefully someone can help you on that or you could contact the site admin directly (or private message them on this site)

3. Bible Study is designed to display by date, not book. But you could use the Landing Page view and only select Books to show. This is a good idea, however, and I"ll put it in as a feature request.

4. I'm afraid I don't follow what you are wanting to do. Sorry!

Greetings!

1. Currently I'm working only on localhost, so I cant provide any url yet. I have not uploaded any sermons yet but there is a sample with genesis 1:1, so what I did yesterday was to search for genesis that returned no results... but intrestingly today it works somehow! I installed the backup tool but don't know if there is any reason for reinstallation with JBS 7.0.1 as a package. Would it fix any bugs, extras vs. JBS component + all the tools/components available to download from this site?

3. I would like to add the studies list's list part to one module (position) and the search/filtering box into another module. If I'm right currently this will requires a workaround job:
a. to separate the filtering box's code from studies list and ensure interoperability with the other module, integrate the code into a module
b. remove the filtering box and place it into a module
x. When I set the BS module to a whatever position it returns only a little box with the more studies link bellow it and nothing else. There is one sample study in its database, the template is the default, it is set to be displayed in all the pages but nothing comes up except that little 5x5mm box.

4. More details with my workarounds in JBS probably wouldn't profit the forum so I would use private user assistance if someone would be so helpful. I guess private support from the footer of this site goes to the site admin, right? Or could you please private message me about how and whom could I contact?
