Trying to download 1.6 version of the product and non of the downloads appear to be valid. I receive a valid zip file however the zip appears corrupted. Is there a alternative for the download or have I missed something simple here.

Which file are you trying to download?

I just downloaded the package of the migration component and the main JBS component - opened it with WinZip and it looked fine. Then I downloaded the component only and it looked fine too. Could it be a momentary thing?

I'll also put up the files on our JoomlaCode.org site just in case it is something with our server.

trying to download for Joomla 1.7 from the Download page...

and I've tried to download: both : Component 7.0.1 and Joomla Bible Study Package 7.0.1

I'm not even sure if Bible Study will give me what I'm needed... I just want to display a different bible verse on the site every day.

I'm sorry you are having problems. I just successfully downloaded and opened the 7.0.1 file. You might try again.

Just so you know - JBS won't do what you want. It is designed to display church sermons, not a daily verse, though there is a component on joomla dot org that will do that.

I will try again.
The site I'm busy with is for a Pastor. Maybe I can use some other features.

I had an extention that just gave bible verse - but that is not available in Joomla 1.7 - and I am wanting to upgrade the site now.

If you do want a way to display media content or notes from your pastor's sermons, JBS is the way to go. Very powerful and flexible. Let us know if we can help you in setting it up!
