Can anyone help I am pretty new to joomla so please excuse mt lack of knowledge. I have just started a new church website and installed joomla Bible study everything seemed to go ok but when i check my sermon web page i get this error at the top

Notice: Undefined variable: compat in E:\Domains\b\bankhallmissionchurch.org\user\htdocs\components\com_biblestudy\lib\biblestudy.images.class.php on line 75

Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in E:\Domains\b\bankhallmissionchurch.org\user\htdocs\components\com_biblestudy\lib\biblestudy.images.class.php on line 75

Hi Graham- this is a bug in 7.0.0 that I just fixed. Replace the attached file after renaming it to .php in the site/components/com_biblestudy/lib folder.

Can you give us your site url so we can see the file that is not playing properly?

Blessings,

Tom

Thats got rid of those errors thanks. I now have the media files playing properly it was my mistake I missed a / at the end of the file name.
I do have another question though. There seems to be no way of allowing front end access to upload files the documents all show for the previous version is it available on this latest version?

Thanks

Graham

Hi Graham,

We're a bit behind on documentation - in JBS 7.0.x there are two new views: messages and media files edit. These are for the front end entry. You add them just as you would add a front end menu item. You set access to the menu from the Joomla menu manager (when you create the menu item). Messages is for study entry, and media files are for, well, media files . In the edit of the media files there is a link to the Joomla media manager. That's how we are uploading files from the front end now. There will be an upload link at the upper left.

That having been said - there is a bug in Joomla that breaks this. You'll get a Not Authorized error. It is apparently fixed and I hope comes out in 1.6.5. For now - you aren't able to upload from the front end. Sorry about that!
