Hi,

I am running Joomla 1.5 and JBS 6.2.4. Generally our sermons are only available to members of our congregation. However, we are going to have a series of six evenings with an evangelist. I would like to make those sermons publicly available.

Now so far, what I did was to put the Joomla Bible Study link in a members only area and set the access level to registered.

I tried to simply add a link in the public part of our website, but somehow more than my test file could be downloaded.

How should I go about it if I want to make only one series available to everybody?

Help is greatly appreciated (However I may not reply during the next two days as I am on a conference)

Thanks
BenjaminD

You should be able to set studies to public access. Can you share your url so we can take a look? Using our version 7.x provides more fine grained control over access.

My problem is that normally JBS is in the members only area. Therefore I need to create an additional menu item and I am unsure as to which menu item to choose.

Since I am running Joomla 1.5 JBS 7.x is not an option. (Or is it?)

My URL is: www.cg-maulburg.de

You can create a menu item to a particular series by just going to the menu and clicking "New" and then choosing a single series view from the Bible Study choices. Then point it to that series you want make public.

You may wish to first create a new template in the JBS backend and in that template hide all the choices that would let users navigate around to different messages that you don't want them to see - the drop downs, etc.

Then when you create that new menu item, choose the new template in the parameters on the right.

Thank you, I think that is what I am going to do.
