Hi Nathaniel,
I made a copy of my site because I wasn't sure the changes upgrading to 6.2 would make. At the very least, I was expecting Bible Study Manager to copy over some of the templates I had customized. I didn't want to spend time going back and reworking the different views on a production site so I figured it would be worth setting up a site copy.
The short answer to your question is yes. The long answer:
With 6.1 already installed, I installed the 6.2 update just as I would have installed any Joomla! component or module. The 6.2 upgrade added some DB tables and I suspect may have added/changed some other files and then it was done. Again, fearing visual changes, I immediately viewed my site to see if it had reset any of the views I had customized. To my surprise, everything was the same.
Since I don't have to spend time reworking the study views, now I can spend time implementing some of the new 6.2 features I've been looking forward to... namely the landing page, and custom date formatting.
Good luck!
Dan
