I am wanting to upgrade from 6.0.10 as painlessly as possible. I also use the podcast plugin as well. Is there anything special i need to know for data conversion, install steps, etc? Should i wait on the 6.2 or go ahead do the 6.1 upgrade? Thx!

Upgrading is all done automatically. We spend a lot of time making sure that the data is upgraded from each version to the next.

I assume you are actually using 6.0.11a. Can you verify? There are some very older versions that won't upgrade, but as long as you are not using a version before 6.0.07 you should be just fine.

I would go ahead and upgrade to 6.1. Version 6.2 is probably a month away from production release. The upgrade path is relatively easy to 6.2 - we are switching to a new install routine modeled after the one the Kunena Forum uses which really helps to automate the process.

I'd suggest you backup all the jos_bsms tables but that's just in case. Then you can simply install 6.1 over the top as it is coded as an "upgrade" so Joomla will overwrite the files and then do the database upgrades.
