I currently have the Bible study component set up for our sermons. I would also like to setup a separate page for singing. I may be wrong, but I thought I could do this by creating a different template for each page. For instance, on the sermons page, I would only want the Preachers listed under the "Teachers" filter and on the singing page I would only like to see a list of singers under the "Teachers" filter.

So for the singing template, I entered a list of teacher id's I wanted to be displayed in the "Ids of teachers on list page" field. I then applied my changes, but all of the teachers are still being displayed on my filter.

I may be misunderstanding the templates completely, so any guidance will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Jason

When you set up the menu link did you select your "music" template? Then in that template you would also choose that same template for all the other views. Give it a try!

Thanks Tom!

Yes, I checked and I have chosen the music template in the menu as well as each view within the template settings. So under the "List Items" in the template, I have entered two teachers id for "Ids of teachers on list page". When I view the change from the front-end, I notice the dropdown menu still lists all of the teachers, but the two I specified are shown as hyperlinks above the drop down menus. Here's the page so you can see what I'm talking about:

Thanks for your help!

So that field you are filling in is for which teachers links to display. There is another field to actually show only those teacher's studies. Make sure to also choose something to fill in for the list itself. You can also choose whether to show the teacher drop down "only if filtered" Sorry I don't have much time but if this doesn't make sense I can walk you through it later.

So Jason, just to clarify - you select what teachers (or whatever) you want to filter the list by using the Filters drop down in the template. You can also choose separately to choose which teacher's names and lnks/pictures to show above the studies by selecting or adding their ids in the List Items area.

Thanks Tom for all of your help!

I've entered the teacher ids I would like to use on the template filter settings. However, the dropdown menu on the front-end still shows all of the teachers. Basically, on the front-end, I would like to only have certain teachers visible in the dropdown menus. When people look at the singing page, they should only see the teachers "singers" I specify on the teachers dropdown filter. Teachers that are "preachers" should not be visible.

I'm sorry if I'm missing something. What I'm trying to do my not even be possible.

Thanks again for your help,
Jason
