I have 2 questions


1. I was wondering how hard would it be to have the last sermon that was put on the website to apear in it own menu under the main menu on the home page?

2. I like the looks of the page when I have it setup to list the speakers. When you click on a speaker I would like to have a list of all the sermons on the website that he preached. I want the audio files list under their picture.


I do not know if any of this is possible but can someone let me know. If they are please let me know how. I will try to fool around to figure them out.

Hi Garland,

To your first question - you could do this with a module copy. Install the Bible Study module then in the Extensions | Modules area click on the mod_biblestudy and make a copy. Then set it to show only 1 study and of the teacher you want (or blank for all teachers). Set other parameters as you want them.

Assign the module to an unused part of your template.

Open a new content item and put in code like this:

The user1 should be replaced with whatever template position you chose.


You can then publish this to your front page.

To your second question:

You should be able to do this. In the Template Display Settings of Bible Study under Teacher View, leave the Number of Studies in Teacher's view blank and it should show all studies by that teacher in their details view.

Thanks so much for replying to my thread. I installed the module and I have the menu up. If you have a chance please look at my site because on the home page on the right it is there but it only has a "-" instead of lsiting the one sample sermon that came with the module.

I changed the other thing to "0" but it only list the pdf not the the audio sermon. I am sure it is something I am doing.

Garland - you should go into the parameters of both the bible study component and your module to set what you want shown. Look under the list items and each list row - that's where you pick what should be displayed in the various areas - list, details, teacher, etc.

That's also where you would pick if you want the media to show. Of course, there needs to be a media item that you have created a record for.

I read your reply and man it seems I have tried all the settings, I just can't seem to find the right trigger. Their is so many options. This seems like a great tool I just must be too stupid to find the right setting? Can you give me the exact setting to change or someting. I looked at the list views and tried to change some things but it seems to change only in the details view after you click on the link on the teachers page it does not seem to be a setting to chage the teachers page to show the mp3 list for that teacher underneath their picture.


I have got the latest sermon module on the homepage to work except that the text is white and the box for the module is white.
