TOPIC: comments - registered only

comments - registered only 23 Mar 2009 11:12 #728

Hi y'all,
Me again ...

I can't get the right combination of parameters between the study and global (and menu, too?) to have comments on studies available to registered users only.

hi Vickie,

You should set those parameters from the menu item linking to the study listings. Choose "Show" comments, then "Registered" for who can submit them. You can also then set whether or not those comments are approved automatically, approved on the backend, and whether an email is sent to someone notifying them of a comment.

Hope this helps!

Thanks, Tom. Working now. (Guess I just have too many ways to get to the studies since we are migrating.)

Now that is resolved ...

I've searched the language ini file and lots of other files ... where is this:

"You must be registered to post comments"

I want to change the format and the wording.

thanks, again.

Vickie: It would be in the languages/en-GB/en-BG.com_biblestudy.ini. Not sure in that string is in there, but if not, you can add it this way (anywhere in the file):

YOU MUST BE REGISTERED TO POST COMMENTS=You must be registered to post comments;

As for formatting, that string doesn't at this point have a way to be formatted. Are you willing to actually go into a .php file and edit? If so it is in the /components/com_biblestudy/views/studydetails/tmpl/default.php file on line 568. You could enclose the echo statement with any html styling you wanted to.

Ah ha. I use WinSCP for ftp and editing ... the "find" feature isn't working. I take comfort in that ... when I pulled it into Notepad and found it right away.

All changed. All good.

You guys rock!
