Help with installation... 17 Mar 2008 01:30 #42

Tom,
Hello brother... I stumbled across your component and initially I am extremely excited. Thank you so much for taking the time to share this component with others.

Now, to my question....

Joomla 1.5.1 I downloaded and installed component verson 0.5.0.6 module 1.2.4

I can add teachers, series, types, etc., but I can not actually ad my first Study. I fill out the information and click save and it never saves anything. I see my new teachers, series, etc. when I click to ad a new Study (they are in the drop downs) but it still never saves anything.

The module options do not allow me to pick any of the teachers, series, etc. Of course I have just assumed this is because I don't truly have my first study in the database.

Can you give me some direction as to what to look into to resolve this problem?

Also, I assume you mean the Parameters button in Joomla 1.5 correct? Not the preferences button. Just wanted to confirm to make sure I am following your instructions to the letter.

Thanks and God bless...
I hope God returns to you 10 fold the time that you have invested into this component. It's great to see others using their talents for God.

My test site is www.mysarasotabaptist.com/mediamogul
Hopeful new site for www.sarasotabaptist.com

It's possible, Eric, that some code in my install.sql file has made it so the studies table did not install. If you have access to your database you should check for the existence of a table like jos_bsms_studies.

You should probably uninstall this version and remove the tables manually, then download and install RC 5.0.8 from the JoomlaCode home for the component www.joomlacode.org/biblestudy

Let me know if this works for you. You can also email me directly and we can work on the problem together offline.

Blessings,

Tom
