I was finally able to get Bible Study installed and I'm able to use it for my mp3 and mp4 files. What I'd like to know is if this component has the ability for me to add additional files such as the weekly bulletin, daily devotions, and home group questions. It'd be great if I could use this component to display the sermon information for the week and then along with the links for the mp3 and mp4 files, have links to download the daily devotions, Sunday bulletin, and home group questions, each in pdf format.

You can actually create a "media file" from anything - a Word document, pdf, text document - whatever. Just think of Bible Study as a way to create links to either web pages or documents you have on a server somewhere. You can create your own icons to match the files you upload - like Word or pdf. In the image description area (on the backend) you would put in descriptive words like "Home Group Study outline" or something so that when peole hover over it they would see that text instead of "mp3".

Then in the media files area you would fill in the information about that file and then it becomes an image and link in the study listing.

Blessings,

In the back end, under media files, when I add new media I have to select a media type. In that drop down I only see options for file types that are audio and video. Can I create new types that will show in the "Image: Select Media Type" drop down, and if so, where do I do that?

OH, nevermind my previous message, I think I figured it out.

Thanks!

Good deal! What you can do is on the backend under Components | Bible Study | you choose Media Images, then "New"

You will have to have uploaded an image file so you can enter the path to it.

Actually, one more question. I tried uploading a bulletin from this past Sunday. I got the media image uploaded and I'm able to select it when I add the media item. The bulletin is just a pdf, so I have a media type called "bulletin" and I'm using a pdf icon. Anyway, I added the media type but on the front end this is what I see next to the pdf icon...

{pdfremote popup="true" divid="13"}localhost/tenmilecc/downloads/20081012_bulletinfinal.pdf{/pdfremote}

I've checked that path and the file is there. If I enter that exact address in my browser I'm able to download the file. Any ideas?
