I'm in the process of building a Joomla site for my church, and I'm trying to make everything as simple as possible, as most of the staff have a hard enough time with MS Word and Power Point. That said I'm doing my best to make everything able to be managed from the frontend, which is what lead me to your component. The problem I'm having is that I have enabled the ability to submit from the front end; however, when I click on the link to submit a study, all I get is a "default" view of the website with the content area blank.

Have I missed something in the configuration of this component?

Thanks,
Sam

Hi Sam,

Try setting the parameter to allow front end submission, and the level required (ie: registered, manager, etc) in the backend from the Bible Study component menu (just go to any of the menus and select the Parameters button on the upper menu) and ALSO set those same permissions from the menu item you created to your studies list on the front end.

I've had a few issues with this so there may actually be a bug I need to address so let me know how that goes!

I suggest that instead of blank-page the component gives an error message that frontend submission is not allowed.

On the same issue, somehow only user at least with Author Level can add new study, even when I set the parameter to allow registered user to access the front end. Can you help?

Thanks,

I'm actually working on that right now. I'm moving the authentication somewhere else, it works better and supplies a 403 error if an unauthorized user tries to enter or edit a record from the front end. I think I am doing a math error in the authorization - I'll look at that and fix for version 6.0.11 due out in a week or so.
