TOPIC: Popup Database Error

Popup Database Error 02 Sep 2009 12:07 #1067

Hello Tom and fellow Bible Study users, I have a new error on EVERY media file that I have in my Studies List. Is AVR being flaky or have I inadvertently broken something? I haven't changed any settings since reinstalling the extension recently, it worked after re-installation.

gallowayumc.org/index.php?option=com_bib...amp;view=studieslist

AVR is the bane of my existence most days...

Thank you for your assistance!

Peace,
Kevin

Yes, AVR does have its quirks. The reason you are getting that error is that there is no Itemid in the link. It doesn't seem to matter what the Itemid is, but there has to be one for AVR to put in it's popup database. Normally that link comes from the menu item you created to the studieslist view or studydetails and is appended by Joomla to the url to your media files or the link to AVR.

Did something like that change recently? Removed a com_biblestudy menu item?

I also noticed that if you are editing studies from the front end, when you go back to the studieslist the Itemid is not appended and breaks AVR.

I was just doing some work on the controllers for version 6.1 to make sure this doesn't happen.

I am having the same problem when using sh404SEF. See post on "problem with SH404SEF”

The Itemid is lost on sub pages on the site. Direct menu links aren’t having this problem for me. The link to study details from study list doesn’t work with the avr popup as it doesn’t have an Itemid. A link on the menu to a single study layout with study details does work.

The avr function in /components/com_avreloaded/views/popup/view.html.php needs the Itemid in the getVideo function. I have hard coded the Itemid and it works. Not the best solution.

If I go in to the database and look at the table (jos_redirection) where sh404SEF to Joomla URLs are linked, the Joomla URL does not have the Itemid. If I add the Itemid for the Biblestudy menu to the table the avr popup works with SH404SEF.

I am currently running Joomla 1.5.14, AvReloaded 1.2.6 and Bible Study version 6.1.00 from SVN. I am not sure if there are files left from version 6.0.11a. I hope this information is helpful. If you would like me to do any more testing let me know. I am working on a plug-in for sh404SEF for the Bible Study component.

Jesus Loves You.
