Starting in 6.1, I've implemented jquery to handle the ajax requests for the docMan and article selectors. I realize that Joomla has its built in Mootools framework, but I've used jquery in the past and decided to go with that since its easier (for me at least -- so I don't have to relearn the mootolos framework).

Anyhow, we can really take advantage of jquery and other useful plugins, (especially their ui-framework) to really enhance the component's interface, and functionality.

What are your thoughts as far as the use of Jquery?

Personally, I LOVE jQuery. I use it almost every day.

I've implemented a few new things in the 6.2 branch using jQuery already - there's plenty of room for more...

I think it's great to use JQuery - truthfully I haven't a clue how to use it so I'll leave it to you guys as the experts!
