downloaded the component and the mod. both executed excellently in joomla 1.5. however, I was planning on highlighting sermons prominently in the home page with a menu item, and would like for the component to be linked to a top menu, rather than through the module. (i'm also not planning necessarily on having a left or right menu, so there's no place for the mod, exactly.)

Is there a way to link the component to the top menu?

Guess I'm not sure exactly what you are trying to do. You can link to a specific study from any menu by creating a new menu item and choosing the studydetails view then choosing a study. But then you'd have to change it every time you wanted to highlight a new study.

Some templates allow you to put a module as a menu item - you could then publish the module with showing the title of the latest study with a link - and that would change the study every time you put in a new one. You would limit the number of studies to 1 in the module.

Thanks Tom. I acutally figured out what I was trying to do, then realized it would not accomplish my goal, when I realized that what I was considering another "menu" was actually a module. I may not get exactly what I'm looking for, but i'll work it out. thanks for such a wonderful app. I am just starting to learn it, and beginning to learn all that it can do, and I'm really impressed, and excited to learn about it and use it. I'm sure the church i'm working with will love it too!
