I have JBS srtup for sermons and would like to have a totally differant page for music. can you tell me how to do this?

One example of what I want is www.maplespringsbaptistchurch.org/ They have a Preaching page and a Singing page.

There are a variety of ways this can be accomplished.

1. You can create a new template and have the music messagetype only selected
2. You can create a menu item that leads only to the music messagetype.

You will need to set up a separate messagetype, then select that for all of the listings you want published to that messagetype.

O.K. Option 2 sounded best but when I tried to create a menu item leading to the new message type but it didnt show under the bible study tree.

So I made a new template which is just as good but I would like to change the Study List to show "Musician" instead of "Teacher"
can this be done?

You'll have to make a new teacher record for the musician, then in the new template, select under List Items (I think) to show the id # of this person. The words you supply for them should show up so they could be identified as a musician rather than a teacher.

The heading at the top of the studies list that shows what is in the 4 columns of each study is what I would like to change, i.e. change Teacher to to Musician. If this cant be done I would like to remove that heading above the study list.

Also, Of the two templates I have (Preaching) and (Music) when you view the Music page only the studies assigned the Music Message Type show. This is correct.

But, when you view the Preaching page all studies show in the list, only the ones with the Preaching Message Type should show.

I have gone over the settings of each template several times. What else could be wrong?

Charles - for some reason I can't approve your last post but - you will need to modify the menu link to your teachings page to only show the message type teaching, otherwise all "studies" will show up.

You can remove the heading in the template settings under List Items, but I don't think you can change the text of the header for teacher to musician.
