Has anyone tried using JBS with the Joomla 1.6 beta? Two of the key features (sub categories & ACL) are really attractive for our new site. Any idea if/when JBS would work with Joomla 1.6?

I tried installing it on Joomla 1.6 beta and, although it installed, it didn't seem to function properly.

When 1.6 is officially released, we will have to migrate it properly. It will not be hard, however, because 1.6 still maintains the same MVC pattern as 1.5, so it might be just an issue of some modified code conventions.

Thanks for checking on on that, Eugen. I've been concerned about how 1.6 will affect the component. I wish there was a good place to find a cross walk of functions, etc between 1.5 and 1.6.

I'm pretty sure that there will be some documentation for adapting components to 1.6. I know that there was similar documentation when 1.5 came out, and that was a major leap from 1.0.x.

Im very much interested in installing BibleStudy on my 1.6 Joomla.. It would be better sooner than later:) . Can you tell me about when would JBS 7 will be available? Even after that we would have much work to do (hungarian translation, theme, etc.) so we are thinking on whether to wait for BibleStudy or to build up a drupal site for sermons if biblestudy is not comeing soon for J 1.6 (this or next 2 months). The multiple categories for a sermon is a great option in BibleStudy. Actually it's a basic need for any sermon manager.

Our developers have been hard at work for several months on a 1.6 version of Joomla Bible Study.

The good news is that we are nearly ready to release an alpha version. This might happen as early as next week. There will no doubt be many bugs to iron out so we won't recommend using it on a production server just yet.
