2010 not displaying? [RESOLVED] 30 Dec 2009 14:44 #1609

This is curious.

We added the sermon for this coming weekend, 1/3/2010.

It is not showng in the front end. All previous sermons are showing.

What might be a lead to troubleshoot this?

We upgraded to Joomla 1.5.15 stable this week.
We are in Legacy mode.
We're using default TinyMce editor.

This is curious.

Any thoughts??

By design the component will not show any studies in the future. This was done so that admins could load up studies in advance. Do you think it would be helpful to be able to choose whether to show future studies?

Hi Tom,

Huh? We do this every week. We often publish in advance. Some like it in order to prepare.

Why would it all of a sudden stop publishing in advance?

thanks,
vickie

You've published studies in advance and they've shown up?

What happens if you set the date to today?

Yes, we do publish in advance and up until now it has worked. LOL.

Setting to today it shows up.

v
P S SETTING IT TO TOMORROW 12/31/09 works, too.

Via PM, I sent link to our site for you to see.

Not a fan of hacking core but ... nevertheless, this is what I did in order to get the future date to display:

In /[joomla's directory]/components/com_biblestudy/models/studieslist.php,
at or around line 488, I removed:

$where[] = " date_format(#__bsms_studies.studydate, '%Y-%m-%d %T') <= ".(int)$rightnow;

The front end displays Sunday's Study outline now with the 1/3/2010 date.
If that hack is a mistake, please let me know.

If you need to figure this out, yesterday I did a screen print of our site displaying the advance date in 2009.
If you want it, let me know via email. Also, happy to give you access to our site so you can see whatever you need to see.

For now, I'm happy.

Happy New Year to you and the team. May you know how wide, how deep is the love of God for you.
