The pastor at one of my websites wants to know if there is a way for us to display NEW Bible Studies in the Latest news module of Joomla. Was wondering if anyone has done this or if it is something that can be done.

We haven't done that before - there is a module for displaying newest studies - available on this website.

The Latest News module in Joomla collects items from content articles. We'd have to hack that module in order to make it work for the JBS component.

I'll look into it but I'm not sure there is a way for us to do this currently.

Im not sure if this would be part of the same request.

An option to display the latest sermons added to the JBS data base.
right now it sorts the sermons by lates date.
In our website We are getting preachings from back in the day when our church was starting. If I add those sermons they are added at the end of the list because I type the date the sermon was made not the date I publish it on our website.

Thanks for the suggestion! I'll put this in. We won't start working on new ideas until we are done with 7.0, which is basically the current JBS ported to Joomla 1.6. There are some new features - big ones - like ACL, but we purposefully didn't work on any of the feature requests. It was a huge chore just to get this far - the back end was completely re-written.

Anyway - we could add a field to determine which field to sort by: date of sermon, date added - though come to think of it we don't have such a field so that will be difficult unless we use the id - then sort either ascending or descending.
