Object errors on Study Details view 30 Oct 2009 13:26 #1272

Hello,

I recently noticed Internet Explorer 6.0 shows an error when viewing a list of studies:
website: www.redeemeralliance.ca
click on "Sermons":
www.redeemeralliance.ca/sermonsbutton.html

IE 6 errors:
Line 2
Char 5
Error: Object doesn't support this property or method
Code: 0
URL: www.redeemeralliance.ca/sermonsbutton.html

Line: 2
Char: 1
Error: Object expected
Code: 0
URL: www.redeemeralliance.ca/sermonsbutton.html

I updated to the RC4 Bible Study, (6.1), but this did not change anything.

I tried on an IE8 system, and got similar errors, with different file references:

IE8 error details:

User Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 5.1; Trident/4.0; GTB6; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.0.4506.2152; .NET CLR 3.5.30729)

Message: Object expected

Any ideas what might cause these errors to occur? On IE8 it is only a mild annoyance, but on IE 6, it seems to offset the speaker images so that they display too far down the page.

This is apparently an IE thing - it doesn't support window.addevent function. There is a fix and one of our developers is going to work on it. I don't know javascript so I would probably just mess it up.

We'll answer back on this forum post.

Hey Fraser, I've looked at the page, and I'm debating as to whether the js error is due to our implementation of tooltip.js or is actually a problem throughout all implementations.

Can you contact us directly from the contact link at the top of this page with your joomla admin login & ftp so I can investigate further?

do you also get js errors on the admin screen?

No js errors on the admin screen that I can see, and I've sent the info along that you requested. Let me know what you can find out.
