The excellent new feature in 6.1beta3 that allows a media file to be linked to a DocMan document only appears to be used for the module interface. The podcast xml generated from the podcast admin still uses the server and file details and so I do not get valid links for media in my podcast.

I'll take a look at that. I think you mean the podcastpublish plugin is working correctly but not the WriteXML function from the component.

I haven't actually tried the podcastpublish plugin (was I meant to?) I've only installed the main component at this time. I just used the WriteXML function as you mentioned. The bit that worked OK with DocMan was the download link in the studies list of the main component.

I see - a question - why would you link to a docman item in a podcast since they are generally for media files?

Because I have media files in DocMan! Hmm, maybe your question really is "why do you have media files in DocMan?"

Sometimes I need to restrict access to media downloads because they are not suitable for general release, but I still want to make them available to church members. So I put them in dmdocuments as this is only accessible via the DocMan component and then I use DocMan to restrict access to specific users.

I wouldn't put the restricted downloads on the podcast, but I'd like to keep all my media files in one place on my server.

Fair enough. Let me take a look at the code and see what's going on!
