TOPIC: XML file not updating

XML file not updating 06 May 2011 20:43 #2554

We are using 6.2 and all of a sudden the XML file does not update for podcasts. tried the automatic publisher and that doesn't work either. The xml location is www.wnmdag.org/wnmdpodcast.xml. I have published a new audio file but it is not showing up.

Also when I go to add the xml feed to podcastalley I get the following error.

CRITICAL Missing or invalid opening and closing <item> tags - No <item> tags found (code: 1520)

Was it working for your previously? There is no xml file at the location you specified. Check that last file you added to make sure there is nothing strange about it that would cause the xml to mess up. The plugin uses the same writeXML function as the component (site/component/helpers/writeXML.php)

It was working previously. I see it is not showing up at all now. I'm at a bit of a loss

I checked the name of the mp3 and did change it, but everything seems to be in order. I can't seem to figure it out. I look at the xml file and it is not showing any reference to any files

Mark,

Check to see if there is anything weird in the most recent entry you made both in the study and the media file associated with the podcast. It's possible that the writeXML function is choking on a data query that is failing due to strange characters or something in the data.

In the plugin, what does the email say - if there was an error it should report it to you.
